Blake Snyder

Blake Snyder 1957-2009

Screenwriter, teacher, and author of SAVE THE CAT, Blake Snyder has passed away today and I am so deeply saddened.

He was a wonderful teacher and a beautiful, inspiring person with a generosity of spirit seldom seen.

He will be greatly missed.

Rest in Peace.

Peri- Thanks, he was a truly wonderful person! Emerald Bay is beautiful--lucky you!!

Hey Claire-- I know, so unexpected!! I never begin a story without his "beat sheet" so I guess he'll always be with us in that way!

Hi, Alyson. I came over here as soon as I heard because I knew you'd know the sense of loss I was going through. I am glad I came, because your sense that he'll always be with us through his "beat sheet" is making me smile for the first time since I heard the news.

Pamela- It's just devastating, isn't it? My heart has been heavy all day. He was so genuinely positive and upbeat--truly one of a kind.

Uhm, sorry to be so off-topic, but if you have some extra time, could you critique the beginning of a short story I am writing? It's ok if you don't have time, but if you do, I would really appreciate it!

Well, that answers that. I was going to ask if you'd heard about this. I just found out on Pamela Cayne's blog. So, so sad. He was brilliant and so full of life.
