This Weekend

If you don't live in So Cal, please know that I've no intention of bragging, but today is such a freaking beautiful day here in Laguna Beach (high of 76!) I can hardly believe it! And since I have a friend visiting from out of town, it's the perfect day to show her around and pretend that January is always like this!

But wherever you are, and whatever you've got planned, make sure to set some time aside to sign up at this week's FREE BOOK FRIDAY- where the awesome Ms. Brody is giving away two mystery novels by Roberta Islieb on the adult side, HERE.

And five copies of Alexa Young's FRENEMIES, the first book in her awesome new series, on the teen side, HERE.

Have a fun weekend everyone!!

Rock 'n' Read Photos!

Didn't make it to Rock 'n' Read? Well, I hate to say it, but you missed out! Stephanie Kuehnert and Alexa Young put together an awesome day of music & books, and I had such a great time meeting everyone, hanging out with friends, and, of course, rockin' 'n' readin'- that if they ever do it again, I am so there!

Anyway, here's a few photos so you can see what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Oh, and I read from CRUEL SUMMER

Cruel Summer Reviews!

Ciudad magazine recently reviewed CRUEL SUMMER and here's what they had to say:

"Noël convincingly captures Colby’s self-transformation as the character comes full circle and realizes that perhaps instead of fighting life and all the things out of her control, she should let go and embrace them. Through the typing fingers of Colby Cavendish, Noël teaches her readers that all the years of suffering through teenage awkwardness are just a phase and, in the end, if a person allows it, she can learn more about herself than she ever thought possible."—Kristine Medeiros

And this is what Book Loons said in their review:

"Though Cruel Summer addresses the usual sort of teen angst, it stands out from its peers for both its unusual Greek island setting, and for the honesty and vulnerability of Colby's blog and journal entries. It makes for an absorbing read."

Also, I'm excited to announce that I will be signing books at the American Library Association's Annual conference on Monday June 30, 2008 in the Macmillan booth, so if you're around, please stop by and say hi! For more details on the event, click HERE.

And, if you plan to be in the LA area on July 13, then save the date for ROCK 'N' READ--an exciting event to be held at the Virgin Mega Store at Hollywood and Highland, brought together by the amazing debut authors, Stephanie Kuehnert and Alexa Young. There will be loads of authors (including me!) reading from their works, awesome bands playing their songs, along with signings, raffles, and all kinds of fun, so stay posted and I'll provide more details as soon as I receive them!

Have a good day everyone!
