WHISPER In Stores Today!!!

Hey Everyone!

So excited to announce that WHISPER is officially in stores - as well as iBooks, Kindle, Nook, Sony E-reader, etc. - today!!

Although those of you who came to see me at the LA Times Festival of Books, were able to pick up hot-off-the-press early copies!

John Stephens, Me, Cornelia Funke on the YA Stage at LATFOB

I have to admit, that this was definitely one of my favorite RILEY BLOOM books to write!

Not only because I got to travel to Italy for research (pic above is me in front of the Roman Colosseum! You can see the rest of the pics from that trip HERE )- but also because in this particular book I got to give Riley everything she's always wanted - and then let her determine if it's really all that she hoped it would be . . .

Early reviews are trickling in, saying:

“Absolutely loved it . . .The word whisper plays an important role in this story, where Riley again outwits the souls she is entrusted to help cross over. The world of ancient Rome is seductively described by Noel and you really feel like you are in the Coliseum cheering on the gladiators. . .I so enjoy Riley's adventures.  This is safe for the youngest of teens and is a series that even the most reluctant of readers will get into.  I know since I have recommended this series to several kids who say they hate to read but ask me when the next book will be out!” –Bookhounds

“I really adore this series . . . Whisper is the fourth book in the series, and it is my favorite book yet . . . Riley's got a great voice that most kids and teens will relate to in one way or another.  This series is also great for reluctant readers.  Each book is short enough and paced so that the reader will not lose interest, and although the covers are pretty, boys and girls alike will enjoy these books.” -- 4.5 stars, YA Litwit

“A sweet, well paced book for Tweens, WHISPER is perfectly written for young readers. Noel handles fundamentally heavy subjects with humor and grace, allowing her heroine to come of age in the afterlife.  Riley struggles with crushes, forgiveness, body image, and romance, all while trying to rescue the long tormented ghost of a Roman gladiator. . .Noel’s characters and mythology were accessible and charming.  Even the sticky issue of a heroine coming of age in the afterlife was handled with aplomb, neither downplaying death nor harping on darkness . . .  WHISPER is note perfect for a young reader who is already trying to find their place in a teenage world.” –All Things Urban Fantasy
And the trailer will be playing on various TV stations all week, but you can also see it here:

I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Peace * Joy * Love
Alyson

Anonymous - I'm on deadline for my new SOUL SEEKERS series now (debuting with FATED May 22!), so I don't currently have any plans to continue with Riley's series, but who knows in the future! :)
