Eight Alyson Factoids

I've been tagged! Actually, it was awhile ago (hey, I've been busy!), and THIS lady's to blame! But all it requires is for me to list eight of my most dirtiest little secrets, so here goes:

1) Birthday cake is medicinal. I’m completely convinced of this, which is why I never turn down a piece.

2) The first time I laid eyes on my husband I knew he was “the one” even though I didn’t believe in things like that at the time.

3) My husband and I once ordered fried crickets in a restaurant out of curiosity. They were very, very crispy.

4) Every time I watch Flight of the Conchords I secretly try to decide which one I’d choose as my desert Island companion—Brett or Jermaine??? I can never decide.

5) When I like a song, I tend to play it over and over (and over!) again.

6) I can’t pronounce the word “thing.” It comes out sounding like “theen.”

7) I eat pizza with a fork and knife, but only because I have an open bite (my front teeth don’t meet) and not because I’m trying to be all fancy.

8) I believe in silver linings.

Okay, now you know all about me--so now it's your turn--tell me something strange, wonderful, secret, or fascinating about YOU!

I say secrets are meant to stay that way, but Itoo believe in silver linings.

Well, you already know my eight factoids :-) I'm totally with you on birthday cakes though. Especially a corner piece with lots of icing. But, I get the willies thinking about eating a cricket. Dare I ask if there's any nutritional value in those green guys? Protein perhaps?

Hello Ms. Hatler-
About the b-day cake- I recently went to a party not feeling so great when I got there, but after a piece of b-day cake (or was it 2 pieces??) I felt so much better!!

Um, the crickets, not sure of the nutritional value, but the crunch factor was unsurpassed! They're on the menu at this cool restaurant by LAX, I forget the name, but if you ever wanna go there, just let me know and I'll find it!

Thanks for the tag!

I've got the open bite "theen" too. :) But crickets? Really?? LOL

Hey Jessica-
Really?? You have an open bite too? Although it makes for some very embarrassing public sandwich eating-- I had no problem with the crickets- just had to close my eyes so as not to look at those tiny, little, curled up legs!

Hey Steph-
Oh, I wouldn't last a minute on survivor-- I draw the line at crickets!!!
CONGRATS on your new deal!!!!!!!!!!!

Birthday cake is the best--especially corner pieces with all the icing.

Once the lady next to me got the corner--and after she'd made it worthless for anyone else to enjoy--said "Oh, I hate the corner piece"

Yes, I'm still bitter...Not sure what the silver lining would be--maybe that there weren't any crickets on my piece :-)

There's nothing like a sugar high to pick you up :)

I've actually had great sushi by LAX. At the Sheraton, if memory serves. The image of the curled up legs you mentioned was enough to make me stick to sushi. ;)

Hey Brooke-
Now that's just sad-- here she was given the "ultimate slice" and she was too ____________ (fill in the blank) to appreciate it. . .

And yeah, crickets and cake? Not so good!

Hey Susan-
My husband just reminded me that restaurant is named "Thaifoon"-- and I swear they offer other delicacies as well!
