Weekend Update!

Hello Everyone!

A big, sparkly thanks to all who came out to see me this past weekend at the LA Times Festival of Books! As many of you already know, I took a year off from writing, which, in the world of publishing, amounts to 3 years between book releases. So it was really fun to be back in front of the readers and seeing so many surprised and excited faces when they realized they were getting a free signed ARC of UNRIVALED a full month before the finished copy is due to hit stores all over the globe!

If you're in the LA area and missed seeing me last weekend, then come see me at YALLWEST in Santa Monica, California on April 30 and May 1st where I'll be taking part in panels and signing more UNRIVALED ARCS. All the details you need can be found HERE!

I'll also be appearing at BookCon in Chicago in May, as well as the Bay Area Book Festival in June- details on both of those events coming soon!

Lots of exciting things are underway: I'm revamping my entire website- with 23 books now in print it was time to streamline a bit and so the wonderful Maddee at Xuni is dreaming up a whole new look that I'll be debuting soon!

Also, for my international readers, Harper Collins has put together an amazing, multi-language site where you can read all about UNRIVALED in your country- you can find it HERE!

And between the events listed above, you can find me holed up in the cave working on more books in the BEAUTIFUL IDOLS series while gearing up for the global release of the first book, UNRIVALED, on May 10!

As always, to keep up on all the latest pics and news you can find me on Twitter Instagram and Facebook

More soon!

Are You on the List?!

So, it's been  a while since I consistently posted on this blog, but with the launch of my new trilogy, Beautiful Idols, set to debut with the first book, UNRIVALED, on May 10, I'm hoping to swing by more often.

If you're thinking it seems like forever since my last book release, well, you're right. After writing 21 novels, contributing to 3 anthologies, and going on countless book tours spanning 5 continents over the course of 8 years, I was pretty exhausted, a little burned out, and decided to take a much needed break.  During that time I traveled, reconnected with family and friends, and refilled the well, as they say.
And now, 2.5 years later, I'm thrilled to announce that UNRIVALED is set for a simultaneous global release in 17 languages and 200 countries- on May 10!!

UNRIVALED is the first book in the Beautiful Idols series. With mystery, suspense, and an insiders-only look at Los Angeles that echoes Gossip Girl’s racy and real New York, fans of Pretty Little Liars and readers who crave pulse-pounding romance will love Unrivaled.

Here's a sneak peek at the world of UNRIVALED:

Everyone wants to be someone.
Layla Harrison wants to leave her beach-bum days for digs behind a reporter’s desk. Aster Amirpour wants to scream at the next casting director who tells her “we need ethnic but not your kind of ethnic.” Tommy Phillips dreams of buying a twelve-string guitar and using it to shred his way back into his famous absentee dad’s life.
But Madison Brooks took destiny and made it her bitch a long time ago.
She’s Hollywood’s hottest starlet, and the things she did to become the name on everyone’s lips are merely a stain on the pavement, ground beneath her Louboutin heel.
That is, until Layla, Aster, and Tommy find themselves with a VIP invite to the glamorous and gritty world of Los Angeles’s nightlife and lured into a high-stakes competition where Madison Brooks is the target. Just as their hopes begin to gleam like stars through the California smog, Madison Brooks goes missing. . . . And all of their hopes are blacked out in the haze of their lies.
Unrivaled is #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël’s first book in a thrilling suspense trilogy about how our most desperate dreams can become our darkest nightmares.

Praise for UNRIVALED
“Like a good celebrity, Unrivaled is mysterious and compelling and so gorgeous you won’t be able to look away.”— Cecily von Ziegesar, author of the Gossip Girl series
“A glitzy, suspenseful, shamelessly addictive read.” — Margaret Stohl, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Creatures
“If you love Pretty Little Liars, you’ll love this sexy teen drama where every choice poses a threat and nothing is what it seems.”— Kami Garcia, #1 New York Times bestselling author
of Beautiful Creatures and Unbreakable
Unrivaled will have you hooked from the very first page. Pure gold.”—Jamie McGuire, #1 New York Timesbestselling author of Beautiful Disaster
“Unrivaled reveals the dark, grittier side of fame and leaves the reader caught in a web of suspense and lies.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Pulling back the curtain on Hollywood's nightclub scene, Alyson Noel's Unrivaled has it all-glamour, passion, scandal, and even a missing starlet. This book is exactly what YA needs. More please!"
- Kimberly Derting, author of the Body Finders series

"UNRIVALED is addictive! With a killer cliffhanger and twists around every corner, I couldn't stop reading this novel. Now I'm impatiently waiting for the second book in the Beautiful Idols series." --Anna Todd, bestselling author of the After series

"Noel cycles among the stories of Layla, Tommy, Aster, and Madison in a gossipy, third-person narrative that makes for addictive reading ..." - Publisher's Weekly

"Noël aims for the celebrity-hungry chick-lit crowd and scores...Chick-lit gold." - Kirkus

If you're in the LA area, I'll be singing early copies of UNRIVALED at  the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books as well as Yallwest in April- details coming soon!

And I'm thrilled to announce that pre-orders are now available at the following locations:

Amazon

I always say I have The Best Readers Ever (because it's true!) and I want to thank you for all of your amazing support through the years! I'm having so much fun writing this new series and I hope you enjoy reading it too!

See you soon, but for now wishing you much Peace * Joy* Love!

LA Times Festival of Books!!

Chicago!!

Hey Everyone-

Just back from the RT convention in Chicago, and boy was it fun! I got to catch up with tons of amazing authors, such as:

Amy Plum, Josephine Angelini, me, & Melissa de la Cruz

Rachel Caine, me, Margie Stohl

me, Melissa de la Cruz, Ally Carter

Margie Stohl, me, Melissa de la Cruz

Margie Stohl (she rides in style!)

But the best part of all was meeting so many of YOU at this year's Teen Day Event, which was totally off-the-hook amazing!! Thanks to all of you who came out! I had so much fun talking with all of you and signing your copies of the RILEY BLOOM books THE IMMORTALS series, my stand alone books, and the super cool FATED posters I was giving away!

And, speaking of THE IMMORTALS, between the gorgeous red tulips on Michigan Avenue . . .

. . .and the sign for Damen Avenue on the way to O'hare airport . . .

(My husband was born on this street, and the name served as the inspiration for Damen Auguste!)

. . .it seemed like there were reminders of Damen & Ever practically everywhere I looked!

But, as much as I miss those characters, I'm equally excited about Dace & Daire, who you'll get to meet in FATED when it hits stores on 05.22.12!

You can read more about the world of THE SOUL SEEKERS by visiting my website, and/or "liking" the Facebook page where you'll have access to a free e-book exclusive containing selected scenes, and an exclusive short story where Ever Bloom & Damen Auguste meet Daire Santos!

Oh, and those who pre-order are eligible to win a pair of super-cool SOUL SEEKERS inspired feather earrings! Details Here!

Though weeks before FATED hits the stores, WHISPER, book 4 in the RILEY BLOOM series, will be released on 04.24.12!

As most of you know, Riley Bloom holds a special place in my heart, which is why I had so much fun writing her latest adventure in WHISPER!

Early reviews are starting to trickle in, like this one from Book Hounds that says:

“Absolutely loved it . . .The word whisper plays an important role in this story, where Riley again outwits the souls she is entrusted to help cross over. The world of ancient Rome is seductively described by Noel and you really feel like you are in the Coliseum cheering on the gladiators. . .I so enjoy Riley's adventures. This is safe for the youngest of teens and is a series that even the most reluctant of readers will get into. I know since I have recommended this series to several kids who say they hate to read but ask me when the next book will be out!” –Bookhounds

This weekend, I'm scheduled to appear at the LA Times Festival of Books held on the USC campus in Los Angeles, CA--and I'm told early copies of WHISPER will be on hand for me to sign! So be sure to drop by my panel on Sunday, April 22, at 10:30 AM, on the YA stage--to clinch your copy before it hits stores--the book signing will directly follow!
Panel: In the Middle: Tweenage Fantasy
Alyson Noël, Cornelia Funke, John Stephens
Moderated by: Aaron Hartzler

In the meantime, you can read more about WHISPER and check out the trailer HERE!
That's all for now--have a great day!

For the two teenage girls in these two unforgettable novels, summer means being torn away from the familiar and finding new friends. A new place in the world. A new sense of self.
