The last two weeks were exhilarating, exciting, and yeah, a little bit exhausting as well, (courtesy of all those early morning wake-up calls!), though it was truly amazing to see what started as a seed of an idea (Melissa Marr's truly awesome idea!) blossom into a full-blown tour of epic proportions!
While groups of authors touring together is nothing new, what was different about The Smart Chicks Tour was that it was fully author organized and financed. Corralling all those authors into all those cities was no easy feat, but thanks to the efforts of Melissa & Kelley & the rest of the amazingly talented Smart Chicks (in addition to writing incredible books they served as artists, tech specialists, and spread-sheet commandos!) it went off without a hitch. And I know I speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU to all of you who traveled to see us--many of you from great distances--and for all the enthusiasm, kindness, and generosity you brought along with you--it was truly appreciated!

Well, the KISSES FROM HELL anthology was released a couple weeks ago (Kelley Armstrong & I have been signing a lot of copies on the road!), and a couple of the authors put together a fun little video about the pros and cons of dating a vampire. Wow, seems I've been so busy working on UNTITLED IMMORTALS #6 (yes, we are nearing a real, honest to goodness title, which I will hopefully announce soon-ish!), spending time with my niece & nephew who are here for their annual 5 week summer visit, and dealing with a nasty gum infection (best to just leave it at that!), that it almost slipped my mind that RADIANCE, book 1 in Riley's new series, will be in stores soon as August 31 is now just 3 weeks away (Yikes & Yay all in one!)!
I may have mentioned it before, but I have to say that writing Riley's story turned out to be some of the most fun I've ever had writing a book, so I really hope readers enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Q. Are you going to make a movie of The Immortals?
A. No. Hollywood makes the movies, I just write the books. Though, the dramatic rights were optioned by a producer so I'm hopeful that someday a movie will be made! My fingers are crossed--which makes for some very awkward typing . . .
Q. Can I audition for the movie? I would be a perfect: Ever, Haven, Riley, (insert character here).
A. I'm afraid I will have as little control over that as I do over whether or not it actually becomes a movie. It's all in the hands of Hollywood now . . .
